The Role of Inclusivity in Successful Autumn Planning

Updated: Dec 2, 2023

Welcome to this month's blog!

October

Did you know that the name "October" comes from the Latin word "octo," which means "eight." Originally, October was the eighth month in the Roman calendar, but when January and February were added, it then became the tenth month.

October has been mentioned in various works of literature and popular culture. It is often associated with themes of change, transition, and the beauty of nature. As the leaves start to turn brilliant shades of red and gold and a gentle chill fills the air, it's a month of transition, where summer meets autumn, and the world around us transforms into a breath-taking canvas of colours.

October's scents are truly unique with bonfires, and pumpkin spice lattes and a popular time for harvest festivals, apple picking, and pumpkin patches. Whether you're preparing for a cosy evening by the fireplace or embarking on an outdoor adventure its always a month of surprises and expectations.

Planning

It's been somewhat of a busy month as preparing for our Christmas Markets with site visits, floor plans, social media postings, website listings, marketing and promotion, coordinating the events with all the relevant information for those attending. Not too mention first thoughts looking ahead into 2024 with lots of exciting things planned that will be shared in due course!

Lunch + Learn

Jason was also involved in a 30 minute live with lots of top tips to help the small businesses already taking part and those ready to take the leap into setting up a brand. It's a key part of our ethos as Curated by Dapper & Suave to ensure a friendly welcome from our unique and creative makers.

Top tips covered were things such as understanding your brand and make sure it stands out from your competition, finding out tips on presenting yourself and your brand at a pop-up market and earn how to get good sales on the day.

You can see this by joining Enterprise Nation which is free and watch.

Business Leader

Jason was also asked to provide a thought leadership piece around diversity and inclusion which they are highlighting throughout the month of October, to highlight the companies and their leaders doing great work.

As many of you know this is so important for us and our events. This made Jason go back to when he was a lot younger a journey to where he is now and will carry on to highlight this and hopefully change people's perceptions of others.
